Teams/Schedule
The teams to register first will secure their spot in our Golf League. Teams will be made up of 2 players and will play 9 holes of stroke play competition per week. After 8 weeks of regular season play, the top 3 teams will participate in the Golf League Playoffs.
Handicapping
The handicap will be based on the first 3 rounds. The handicap formed from the first 3 rounds will be applied to matches 1 – 3. After week 3, the handicap will be adjusted each week. (handicap adjustment has 75% of handicap max rule)
For example, Golfer “A” shoots 42, 48, and 50 in his first 3 matches. Their 140-total divided by 3 rounds = 46. x (greater than 0.6 will be rounded up) based on a par 36. Golfer “A”s handicap would be an 8 going into week 4. (11 handicaps before 75% handicap max adjustment)
Handicaps are based on league rounds only. If you have a substitute player their handicap will be zero.
Scoring/Format
Each team will consist of an A player and a B player. The A player will have a lower handicap, the B player will have a higher handicap. The A and B player designation is subject to change. All teams will play from the Blue Tees.
Each match will be worth 3 points. The net scores of the A players will be compared - low net receives 1 point. The net scores of the B players will be compared - low net receives 1 point. The combined net team scores will be compared - a low combined net receives a point.
If one player from a team fails to record a score, the team forfeits the players' match and also forfeits the point for a combined net. If both players from a team fail to record a score, all 3 points will be forfeited.
All shots must be played from the proper mat. If a shot is played from an incorrect mat, the player is subject to a 2 stroke penalty.
Playoffs
There will be one playoff round in week 9. The top 3 records will advance to the playoffs. No. 1 seed automatically receives a bye and will await the winner of the No. 2 vs. No. 3 seed playoff match. The format of the playoff round will be Total Net (combine net scores of both players).
The playoff course will be determined by the league administrators.

RULE #2: NO MULLIGANS! (Mulligans will be used only when ball flight has an error and the party agrees to use a mulligan to re-hit)

If a player can't make it to a scheduled tee time, what can we do?
You have three options. 1) You can add a substitute for that night; however, that player will not play with a handicap 2) You can continue as 1 player but the max points you can earn is 1 out of 3 or 3) You can reschedule your team's 9 holes for another time but standard bays rates will apply and much be completed before next the scheduled round.
Neither player can make it to the scheduled tee time, what can we do?
You have two options. 1) You forfeit the match for zero points and no handicapping or 2) You can reschedule your team's 9 holes for another time but standard bays rates will apply and much be completed before the next scheduled round.
I am getting "reminder" emails from you but the times are wrong. When I am I playing?
We are currently looking into this, but the reminder emails are incorrect sometimes. Please use the tee times scheduled and posted on dufferspub.com.
Our scores are tied after 9 holes, what do we do?
There is no need for playoff holes. We will adjust scores at week 3 once we have enough rounds to apply to handicap and handicapping will continue through week 8. Therefore there will not be a need for a platform due to the scoring process. If the scoring process yields a tie, neither team will be awarded points. In the event, we have a tie for championship selection, we will run a 3-hole playoff with the course being selected by Duffer's staff.
The current tee times really don't work for my schedule, can we open up other days of the week?
This is possible. So please reach out if the current times are inconvenient and we can work to add additional slots.
We wanted to play specific teams that are registered on a weekly basis, is that possible?
In order to create a championship bracket, we need a good rotation of teams playing against each other. So unfortunately we can't always have the same teams play each other. We will try to accommodate the same team times so that you can hang with friends before and after the round.
